Sweetheart Dinner Mar 11

Tonight we had a lovely dinner celebrating the importance of marriage and families. There was a slideshow with wedding pictures from couples in the ward, a delicious dinner, and pictures taken as couples. Here are a few pictures from the night (couples pictures will be in a different post)

Women's Shelter Service Project

Earlier today we had a service project combined with the Burlington Ward's Relief Society. We made drawstring backpacks for the children that stay in the women's shelter. We filled them with small items that had been donated to bring them a little bit of fun and peace in what would otherwise be a dark time for them.

We cut fabric, sewed, and stuffed bags, working for four hours. But the time flew by as we talked, laughed, and got to know new friends and visited with old ones.

Deb Graham's machine threw a temper tantrum. Eventually it was given a time out. We were just glad it was her fingernail and not her finger!

At the end of the day we had 85 bags, surpassing our goal of 50 bags. It's amazing how much can be done by a group of sisters with a mission! And look how cute they are!

And some of us were rewarded with a good snuggle :)
