July Service Project

This month we spent the morning at the Vlahovich's home working in their yard and flower beds. We pulled weeds, pruned bushes and trees, and hauled a lot of bags of debris to the dump. Everybody worked too quickly for me to get "before" pictures, but the yard definitely looked much nicer after we were done.

I have a sneaking suspicion he just liked using the chainsaw :)

June Relief Society Night

Patriarchal Blessings Instruction

We had a lovely lesson from our stake patriarch about our patriarchal blessings this month. He taught us things that were new to us, and reminded us of things that we've known for a long time. We were reminded of their significance in our lives and the important guidance that they can give each of us. I'm sure the spirit was felt by all.

May Relief Society Night

Do you know what to do if your baby stops breathing? You do if you came to Relief Society!

Mary Maue did a great lesson for us this last week on CPR and some basic first aid. She was very well prepared with tons of pamphlets, multiple videos to watch, and even had CPR kits for both infants and children/adults.

We watched the infant DVD, and even practiced a little bit on the "mini-baby"

Then we covered the differences between infant cpr, child cpr, and adult cpr.

We also covered what kinds of things to have in a first aid kit, the heimlich maneuver, and touched on various other first aid and health topics.

Great job Mary, thanks for sharing a little bit of your knowledge with us!

April Enrichment

Last week we had an Enrichment meeting around the theme of being organized. And I missed it...because at the time I was the epitome of lack or organization. How's that for ironic? When Kathy called a couple hours before it, I had completely forgotten about it. I was digging myself out from a road trip worth of laundry, my kids hadn't even gotten dressed that day, and I'd gone on a jog but not yet showered. For that reason alone, you can all be grateful that I wasn't there. I'd have scared you all away. :)

So since I wasn't there to hear all the great messages, it's your turn to do the report! Go ahead and post your favorite thought, talks, etc from the night in a comment!
